A Message from the President
I am deeply honored to step into the role of President of the Pennsylvania Allergy and Asthma Association (PAAA). It is a privilege to lead such an incredible group of dedicated clinicians who are deeply committed to providing cutting-edge patient care and mentoring the next generation of allergists and immunologists.
Since I began my Allergy Immunology training, our Annual Meeting has been a highlight of my year, and my kids have grown up seeing this meeting as the start of summer. Each year I look forward to our time together in Hershey—combining world-class education, catching up with colleagues across the state, and s’mores and rollercoasters.
My time on the Board of Regents has given me a deep appreciation for the goals of our members. Inspired by PAAA’s past leadership, I look forward to spending the coming year working on your behalf to support our patients, teach our trainees, and advance our field.
Strategic Goals for the Coming Year
Based on my conversations with many of you, I have outlined three key priorities for our organization:
1. Mentoring Future Leaders in Allergy & Immunology
In collaboration with the Pennsylvania Allergy Education Research Fund (PAERF), we will continue to actively champion our trainees by
· Further expanding dedicated mentorship opportunities within PAAA.
· Increasing opportunities for trainee participation and visibility at our Annual Meeting.
· Providing resources to help them achieve their research goals.
2. Staying at the Cutting Edge of AI Practice
We will continue the proud legacy of our PAAA Annual Meeting by recruiting top-tier experts to discuss:
· The latest clinical insights into our core diagnoses and rare diseases.
· Emerging research and breakthrough developments transforming future care.
· Practical strategies to foster career success and fulfillment, while maintaining work-life balance.
All of this will take place in a beautiful, family-friendly setting with ample opportunities to network with colleagues and exhibitors and enjoy summer in Pennsylvania
3. Advocating for Our Patients and Physicians
Your voice matters. I encourage each member to bring their unique ideas and passions to PAAA so we can best represent you. Together, we will advocate for making advanced medical care accessible to our patients while ensuring that providing that care remains efficient, viable, and fulfilling for our physicians and allied health personnel.
Shape the Future of PAAA With Us
I want to hear from you. Please reach out throughout the year to share your perspectives, insights, and goals for our association.
Let’s work together to advance the mission of PAAA. By honoring our past achievements, investing in our trainees, and learning from the daily experiences of our patients, we will continue to unlock novel ways to diagnose, treat, and care for our community.
Thank you for your dedication, and I look forward to an outstanding year ahead.
